I used Mr. Aiello's and Ms. Sachs' previous book (CM Best Practices) in establishing a framework for doing real-world software development in the academic environment, as well as the textbook for a graduate level course in software configuration management, an overlooked but critical software engineering discipline. Mr. Aiello correctly states that applying "just enough process" is critical in effectively managing the software lifecycle, especially if you are designing a development framework customized for a particular environment -- in my case, the academic environment. Incorporating DevOps into your development framework is especially important in Agile-based mission critical systems.I will be using this book as the text for upcoming software configuration management class.
